This is a wonderful arts and crafts artisan brooch.  It was bought from St Kilda Esplanade market approximately 10 years ago.

I believe it to be made of either wood or papier mache, painted gold/bronze.  The brooch features a hand painted pink heart on a mottled orange background.

There are scrolls on the front of the brooch in painted gold wire and another gold wire is secured at the base where a teardrop shaped faux pearl freely hangs.  There is another small faux pearl at the bottom.

The brooch secures with a pin at the back.  It is in excellent condition and a beautiful piece, perfect for gift giving.
